Detail photos for this Artwork

This delightful etching ” … and so it was decided to go on a cruise” is one of several works that feature Elisabeth Lawrence’s little duck, setting off on life adventures.  The artworks conveys the message that life can be fickle and uncertain, just like a paper boat travelling through the ocean. But with strength and belief, even a fragile little boat made only of paper, and steered by a little white duck, can have the power to enjoy, and the ability to cruise through life.

As well as being a wonderful painter in oils, Elisabeth Lawrence is a very talented etcher, and this etching, created on a copper plate and printed on high quality Hahnemuhle paper, has won two printmaking prizes in Newcastle and Brisbane.
