“A Thousand Miles Beyond: The Equine Paintings of Hugh Sawrey”, is the perfect book for collectors and followers of Hugh Sawrey’s art, focussing on Sawrey’s paintings that feature horses.
The 120-page book features 74 illustrations of equine themed paintings from Sawrey’s career dating from 1965 to the year of his passing in 1999. The book was compiled and edited by Hugh’s son, Anthony Sawrey, and released in 2019 to mark the 100th anniversary of Sawrey’s birth in 1919.
Being a specialist in Sawrey’s art and having sold many of his pieces over the past 30 years, I was invited by the Sawrey family to contribute several photos to the book.
