Detail photos for this Artwork

Pro’s detailed and highly entertaining horse racing scenes are highly prized and amongst his most sought after and favoured subjects.

Much of Pro Hart’s work is colourful and humurous, recording with a candid appeal, our typically Australian past times and pleasures, including a day at the races, one of the cornerstones of social get-togethers in the bush.

A large and highly collectable oil painted in 1988, “Savs and Rolls” (above) offers to Pro Hart admirers a much sought after racing subject with an amusing focus.

Punters beside the track and in the grandstand are enjoying the thrill of the horse races, but there is also a busy atmosphere captured behind the stands with people enjoying a fun day of socialising and the tasty snacks from the food stalls.

Throughout his life, Pro Hart, a man of the people, has recorded so endearingly our cultural and social traditions, and made his art so relatable to so many Australians,  which was one of the chief reasons for his incredible popularity and success.
